What a great time it was when the legendary British racing drivers David Piper and Richard Atwood claimed victory in the Kyalami 9-hour race! Their victorious ride, the Ferrari 365 P2, has also become a legend in its own right. In 1965 the juicy green classic with its 4.4-litre, V12 engine was considered the ultimate sports car. While filming for "Le Mans" Piper crashed in his Porsche and lost part of his leg. However, Piper could never kick the racing habit and being a motor racing legend he saw no reason to take it easier: To this day David Piper has remained a rock-solid Ferrari enthusiast, running his own small-scale workshop in Surrey in which he has already built three complete Ferrari 330P4 replicas.
