Discover the Renard , a wooden model of the cutter launched in Saint Malo in 1812 by the famous privateer Robert Surcouf with the main objective of attacking and capturing enemy merchant ships of France. Its actions and its legacy for the city of Saint Malo make the Renard a symbol of the strong French naval identity .

The Renard was the last ship armed by the famous Robert Surcouf . In September 1813, she accomplished her greatest feat by defeating the English schooner HMS Alphea in combat , making the city of Saint Malo a refuge for the families of the world's greatest privateers. In 1991, a replica of the original Renard was launched, which still proudly sails the waters to the delight of its visitors.
