At the beginning of the 1980s. SPMBM with "Malachite" under the leadership of GP Moskalev submarine project was developed in 1710 ( "mackerel" code). The main purpose of this ship was to carry out in natural conditions of research and testing in the field of propulsion, underwater acoustics and hydrodynamics in the operational and emergency modes of movement of promising high-speed boats, as well as checking the impact on boundary layer of polymer solutions.
