The Kirov-class guided missile cruiser is currently the largest and most powerful surface combatant in the Russian Navy and the world. Originally built for the Soviet Navy, it is commonly known as P.1144 in Russia.

The missiles, artillery and electronic equipment equipped by this class of ships are impressive. A large radar antenna is installed on the top of its foremast, which NATO calls the "top pair". The Kirov-class's main weapon is the 20 P-700 (SS-N-19) "shipwreck" large anti-ship missiles on the front deck, which are used to deal with large surface targets. The anti-aircraft weapons include 12 groups of 8-unit S-300F missile launchers with 96 ammunition; and 2 20-round Osa-MA anti-aircraft missiles with 40 ammunition. Several ships of this class have differences in weapons and electronic equipment. The first ship "Kirov" is equipped with SS-N-14 anti-submarine missiles; while subsequent ships are equipped with 4 sets of 9K331 (SA-N- 9) Anti-aircraft missile system. The close-in defense weapons on the "Kirov" and "Frunze" are eight 30mm AK-630 artillery pieces, while the subsequent two ships use the "Kashtan" (CADS-N-1) artillery and artillery integrated system replace.

In terms of other weapons, the "Kirov" is equipped with two 100mm single-barreled naval guns, and the follow-up ship is equipped with a 130mm AK-130 fully automatic fire, two 5-unit torpedo/missile dual-purpose launch tubes, and Ability to launch SS-N-15 missiles. Two RBU-1000 six-tube anti-submarine rocket launchers can launch 40 anti-submarine rockets.
