The Sagami Railway 12000 series is a train that was introduced for direct operation to JR lines via the JR Direct Line that will open in November 2019.

The specifications will be the same as the JR line vehicles that it serves, and it will also be common with the company's 11000 series.

The front of the train is designed to resemble a lion's mouth, and the exterior is painted in a solid blue color called "YOKOHAMA NAVYBLUE."
