The SW-34 150cm searchlight was developed in Germany in the late 1930s and was the most widely used searchlight during the war.

Powered by a 24kW generator, this searchlight has a maximum brightness of 990 million candelas, a range of 8,000m, and can detect aircraft flying at an altitude of 5,000m.At the time of the Nazi Party Congress in 1937, 150 of them were installed around the venue and lit up the sky in unison, creating a colonnade of light that enveloped Zeppelinplatz, creating a "Cathedral of Light", which became a hot topic at the time.
