In 1944, during the Battle of the Bulge, Operation Greif was a plan developed by the Nazis to infiltrate behind the allies lines. They made various modifications to make approximately ten Panzerkampfwagen 5 "Panther" look as similar as possible to the American M10, known as the Panther M10 or the Ersatz M10 (Ersatz meaning replacement in German).
