The 205 series is a commuter train that was introduced in 1985.
It was introduced to replace the 103 series that was widely used in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and was introduced to the Yamanote Line as the first of the series.
Unlike the conventional 103 and 201 series, the body is made of stainless steel and has the line color of the line it was introduced on.
The 205 series introduced to the Yamanote Line was transferred to other lines when the line was replaced by the E231 series.
Of the same series transferred to the Keiyo Line, two trains were early production cars, and the color of the stripe was changed to wine red and the train was changed to 10 cars, and they were in service until 2011.
