The Royal Air Force's "Spitfire" fighter is one of the most famous fighters in World War II. Since its introduction in 1936, more than 20,000 have been produced by 1948. The MK.V series has always been the main battle of the Royal Air Force. More than 6,500 aircraft were produced.
