Its been a massive year so far for LEGO® Technic car models - the latest one arriving this May just adds so much more range to the celebrated lineup which includes iconic vehicles like the Bugatti Chiron, the Mclaren Formula One and the recent 2022 Ford GT. The LEGO® Technic™ PEUGEOT 9X8 24H Le Mans Hybrid Hypercar (set 42156) is just in time to celebrate 100 years of racing at Le Mans in 2023.
The car makes its debut in the LMH class of the World Endurance Championship, and this model won't fail to impress. Adult LEGO® builders and collectors will enjoy a rewarding project, recreating details that capture the latest in racing innovation.
Approximately done at 1/10 scale, this model race car is one of the first to show off a hybrid system, with a V6 piston engine that connects to the rear wheels and a model version of the electric motor and its connected battery.
The suspension is designed especially for this model, and the operating steering system works using a steering wheel via a gear on the top of the car.
You can view the engine and interior via the opening doors, adn the V6 Hybrid system is viewable from access panels and beneath the chassis.
In another unique feature, LEGO® designed in Glow-in-the-dark light elements to capture the feel of a the famouse 24-hour race.
The detailing doesn't stop inside - the model has official PEUGEOT and sponsor logos and markings on the body, and is licensed Le Mans 24 hours livery.
