New arrivals in store are Hong Kong Model's amazing additions to their large scale aircraft offerings - including a much-awaited 1/48 edition of their very first kit release, the 1/48 B-25J Mitchell 'Glazed Nose'!

A few months back Max got a preview kit sent to us by Hong Kong Models themselves. We can say that the test shots are not any different from the final production sprues, and this promises to be a popular build right off the bat!

We took a close look at the box contents, starting with the full colour instruction booklet. It was good to see a finely printed decal sheet with two options, as well as a photo etch sprue. A bonus was a full colour poster print of the box art!

Mitchell clear sprues

Checking out the clear plastic sprues, HKM has not one but two main canopy frames (for different armoured versions) as well as the glass nose itself.

Nose weight

Included in the box is a pre-formed metal nose weight, so you won't have to worry about any tail-sitters!

Detail shot

Finally the details on the fuselage and wings themselves were amazing - the fine rivet and panel engraving should give your washes a decent sink to hold on to, and we can foresee this becoming a weathering paradise!
