All RC vehicles are unique in how they operate, and while some may have similar inner workings, the overall experience of using the RC requires different skills and judgements.

RC planes are great fun, but piloting skills do not happen overnight. To develop your skills and grow an eye for RC flight, you've got to start with the right first steps. With the right training and practice, you will have a chance to progress from a beginner to ace, but often it comes down to what your first aircraft choice is. High speed Electric Ducted Jet (EDF) aircraft and classic RC scale warbirds may look cool, but they are not ideal for beginners. A slow-speed, high wing monoplane may be the way to start off. Flight Simulators

Because of RC aircraft’s unique flying experience and delicate nature, a great way to practice operating planes is through a model-plane flight simulator. These simulators assist in feeling comfortable flying, and even prevent future crashes. Flight simulators can come as software by itself, or with a controller that you can hook up to the computer to practice, and then bind with an aircraft later on. This is the perfect winter alternative, as you can't really fly during the cold, wet months. With enough simulator practice you'll be ready come Spring!
